Terms of Repair
TERMS OF REPAIR
By placing an order on this website, submitting a form, mailing your device to GetFixed for service, or dropped a device off locally, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.
⚠️ REPAIR RISKS
Electronic repairs can be unpredictable. Some devices may have hidden faults, prior damage, liquid exposure, board damage, or other conditions not visible until diagnosis begins.
While every effort is made to complete repairs successfully, no repair is guaranteed. In some cases, a device may remain non-functional, partially functional, or worsen due to pre-existing damage or failure during the repair process.
If a repair attempt is unsuccessful, return shipping charges may still apply.
💰 PAYMENT TERMS
Payment is due immediately upon completion of service and before return shipment.
Invoices may be sent through our payment processor. Devices will not be returned until all balances, including repair charges, shipping, diagnostic fees, or approved add-on services are paid in full.
Devices left unpaid for 30 days after invoice date may be considered abandoned. GetFixed reserves the right to recycle, salvage, or resell abandoned devices to recover labor, parts, storage, and administrative costs where permitted by law.
Likewise, if only return shipping is owed and remains unpaid for 30 days, the same abandoned property policy may apply.
🚚 RETURN SHIPPING
Any free return shipping promotions apply only to the continental United States unless otherwise stated.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO, and international destinations may require additional shipping charges.
If a repair is declined, canceled after arrival, or unsuccessful, free return shipping does not apply unless specifically stated.
📦 SHIPPING ADDRESS POLICY
Returned devices are shipped only to the address provided at invoice payment checkout.
We do not rely on:
• Addresses entered on contact forms
• Addresses written inside packages
• Addresses sent by text, chat, or email
Shipping labels are generated from the address submitted during invoice payment. It is the customer’s responsibility to verify the address before payment.
If a package is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address:
• Original postage is non-refundable
• New postage must be paid before reshipment
🛠️ AUTHORIZATION TO SERVICE DEVICE
By sending your device to GetFixed, you authorize us to:
• Open and inspect the device
• Disassemble components
• Remove damaged parts
• Install replacement parts
• Perform diagnostics, testing, soldering, repair attempts, and related procedures reasonably necessary to complete service
Diagnostic or bench fees may apply even if repair is declined or unsuccessful.
🐜 FILTH / INFESTATION / BIOHAZARD
Devices containing heavy dirt, smoke residue, insects, roaches, mold, or animal waste/urine may be refused immediately.
Cleaning or hazard handling fees may apply depending on severity.
Devices with infestations may not qualify for warranty coverage.
📬 IMPLIED AGREEMENT
If you mail in a device, drop off a device, or submit payment for service, you agree to these terms whether or not you read them fully.
It is your responsibility to review our terms before using our services.
💧 LIQUID DAMAGE
Liquid-damaged devices may be accepted at our discretion.
No warranty is provided on liquid-damaged devices unless stated in writing.
Even if repaired, liquid-damaged electronics may develop future unrelated failures due to corrosion or hidden damage.
Additional cleaning or board-level charges may apply.
🧰 PRIOR REPAIR ATTEMPTS
Devices previously worked on by another shop or individual may require extra labor, additional parts, or may be deemed non-repairable.
If prior repair damage significantly increases bench time, additional charges may apply with approval when practical.
🚫 REFUND POLICY
All service sales are final once labor begins.
Refunds are not provided for completed labor, unsuccessful attempts on heavily damaged devices, diagnostic time, or ordered parts.
If an issue covered under warranty occurs, we must first be given the opportunity to inspect and remedy the problem.
🛡️ WARRANTY
Standard repairs may include a limited 30-day or 60-day workmanship warranty depending on service type.
Warranty covers only the specific repair performed and defects directly related to our workmanship.
Warranty does not cover:
• Physical damage
• Liquid damage after service
• Power surges
• User misuse
• Shipping damage after delivery
• Unrelated failures
• Tampering or third-party repair after our service
Some repair categories may carry no warranty due to risk level. This will be disclosed when applicable.
🔄 DATA LOSS / SOFTWARE
Customers are responsible for backing up all data before service.
GetFixed is not responsible for data loss, account lockouts, erased storage, or software issues occurring before, during, or after repair.
Factory resets, firmware updates, or software restoration may be required during certain repairs or testing.
🧩 MODIFIED DEVICES
Devices modified from original factory design (hardware or software) may be refused or accepted without warranty at our discretion.
🚚 SHIPPING INSURANCE
Shipping insurance is optional unless required.
If purchased, insurance generally covers the shipment itself subject to carrier rules and claim approval, not sentimental value or irreplaceable data.
Lost or damaged shipments may require carrier investigation and supporting documentation.
📄 POLICY CHANGES
These terms may be updated at any time without prior notice. Updated versions will be posted on this website.
